A trade, not just a job
Six union locals mean structured apprenticeships, portable credentials, and pension and health benefits that follow you for a career — not just a project.

Fifty years ago, Doug Thomas started with a crew and a job to do right. Today it's roughly 120 people — operators, carpenters, PEs, and project managers — building the roads, bridges, water systems, and buildings that Pennsylvania, Ohio, Maryland, New York, West Virginia, Virginia, and North Carolina run on. We're hiring people who want a trade, a career, and a company that's still standing in five decades.

The Thomas difference
Six union locals mean structured apprenticeships, portable credentials, and pension and health benefits that follow you for a career — not just a project.
We self-perform with our own iron — GPS-equipped CAT fleet, drone surveying, field-to-office reporting. The crew that bids the job builds it, start to finish.
An employee-run program that won Caterpillar's Contractor of the Year Safety Award, backed by a full-time Safety Director, annual two-day Safety Days, and a monthly safety committee. You go home the way you came in. Learn more about our safety standards.
President John Stamm has run day-to-day operations since 1990. Tenures here are measured in decades, not quarters. Leadership answers the phone.
Every trade we run
Thomas Construction crews and staffs projects across ten disciplines — paving, concrete, box culverts, roadway and bridge, wastewater treatment, vertical construction, maintenance and snow removal, excavation and site work, underground utilities and stormwater, and dams, flood control, and environmental work.
That range means variety inside one career: an operator or laborer can move between paving season and snow removal; a project engineer can rotate from a DOT bridge letting to an industrial wastewater job. Field roles, equipment and CDL positions, and salaried roles in engineering, estimating, safety, and project management are all part of the same company — with the fleet bays and yard space to mobilize fast across seven states.
Equipment operators, CDL drivers, laborers, carpenters, concrete finishers, pipe crews, and foremen — union-represented, working across active government and commercial sites.
Structural and construction PEs, land surveyors, estimators, and project engineers working alongside in-house drone and GPS survey teams.
Project managers, superintendents, safety staff, and administrative roles that keep seven states' worth of jobs on schedule and on budget.
